As the MÜSİAD Construction and Building Materials Sector Board, we have added a new one to the social responsibility projects we have developed with the understanding of “National Unity and Solidarity”. In order to contribute to the vision of “Türkiye Free of Terrorism”, we have brought to life the “Tomorrows Renewed with Hope: Eastern Anatolia School Project”.
Within the scope of the project, in the Dereyanı Hamlet of Konur Village in the Şemdinli district of Hakkâri, right next to the Aktütün Outpost, in the easternmost part of Türkiye, we as the MÜSİAD Construction and Building Materials Sector Board undertook the maintenance, repair and renovation works of the village school located there.
This school is not only a nest of education, but at the same time has the character of a regional centre of hope serving five separate villages and hamlets:
A total of 169 students (90 girls – 79 boys) are being educated at the school at the primary and secondary school levels, and 13 of the 20 classrooms are actively in use.
More Than a School: A Message of Hope and Unity
This project is not only a physical improvement; it is at the same time a meaningful step carrying hope for the children living in the east of our country, confidence for families and a sense of unity for society. By providing a safer, modern and well-equipped educational environment, it is aimed to contribute to preparing the children of the region for the future with equal opportunities.
Our MÜSİAD Construction and Building Materials Sector Board Chairman Ömer Kandemir said the following about the project:
“One child, one future, Türkiye together... We act with this belief. We mobilize the means and the accumulated experience of our sector for the unity and solidarity of our nation. The renovation of this school is not merely a building repair; it is at the same time the symbol of the hope blossoming on these lands, of the integration of state and nation, and of peace.”
Building the Future with Loyalty to National Values
The project was brought to life as a concrete indicator of our MÜSİAD's understanding of social responsibility and of its stance committed to domestic and national values. It is aimed to spread such projects, which contribute not only to economic development but at the same time to social integration, social justice and equality of opportunity.
In addition to supporting education, we also provided clothing support so that our children can sustain a more comfortable educational life under difficult geographical and climatic conditions. These contributions carry to the children of the region not only warm clothing but at the same time the message “you are not alone”.
