The “Sustainable Art” exhibition, in which Deniz Sağdıç transforms industrial waste into works of art, was held at the MÜSİAD Head Office under the coordination of MÜSİAD Academy as part of MÜSİAD's 34th anniversary events.
The Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MÜSİAD) brought visual artist Deniz Sağdıç's “Sustainable Art” exhibition together with art lovers under the coordination of MÜSİAD Academy.
The paintings in which Deniz Sağdıç transforms collected waste materials, plastic boxes, rubbish bags and all kinds of used and discarded materials, objects and pieces of belongings into works of art were exhibited at the MÜSİAD Head Office.
“As MÜSİAD, we are aware of our responsibility”
Speaking at the event, MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı said: “At this event we are holding within the scope of MÜSİAD's 34th anniversary, we are pleased to bring the works of our very valued artist Deniz Sağdıç together with art lovers. As MÜSİAD, we frequently emphasize that sustainability is one of the most important issues for enterprises and for the efficient use of the world's resources. As MÜSİAD, we are acting as an intermediary for this meaningful exhibition in order to fulfil our responsibility, to raise awareness and, through this awareness, to instil an artistic consciousness in people and to develop their aesthetic perception.”
Another name speaking at the event, MÜSİAD Education, Culture and Publications Commission Chairman Dr. Savaş Yılmaz, said: “MÜSİAD's aim is to help enterprises take the necessary steps to adopt and implement the principles of sustainability. We too are holding this event in order to raise awareness in the field of sustainability. We are pleased to bring Deniz Sağdıç's works together with art lovers.”
Speaking at the event, Visual Artist Deniz Sağdıç said: “Sustainable art has two definitions for me. First, objects inspiring nature-friendly ideas and the sustainability of art. Second, it is about art being accessible, being exhibited in all kinds of venues and creating a difference. Today, here, we opened the 'Sustainability Exhibition' together with MÜSİAD. Here, together with MÜSİAD, we have put our signature to a project made from a total of 8 separate materials, showing how important the culture of separation and the culture of recovery is. In our works displayed here, visitors can witness different types of waste such as electrical circuit waste, zipper waste, textile fabric waste, pharmaceutical waste and PET bottle cap waste. What I am trying to do here is to present a language showing that every object is in fact a raw material and that, if used correctly, it can even be combined with art. We are aware of how much importance MÜSİAD attaches to sustainability policies and of how high-quality the products of its businessmen and producers are in the fields of production, marketing and sales. Their trying to show this through art in some way actually shows us how valuable this project is.”
The "Sustainable Art" exhibition, consisting of the works in which visual artist Deniz Sağdıç transforms waste products and objects into works of art, can be visited in the Foyer area of the MÜSİAD Head Office between 6-10 May.
