As the Sector Boards and Fair Forum Commission, the regional meetings organized by our sector boards are continuing. In this context, the Construction and Building Materials Sector Board held its 4th Regional Meeting in Kahramanmaraş. The meeting, organized for the purpose of introduction and consultation, was attended by the branch presidents of the branches in the 4th region, the construction sector board chairmen and sector members. While the participants assessed current issues concerning the sector, cooperation opportunities were also put on the table.
At the meeting held under the hosting of the MÜSİAD Kahramanmaraş branch by the delegation consisting of MÜSİAD Construction and Building Materials Sector Board Chairman Cemil Yüksekdağ and the accompanying sector board members, introduction and consultation with the regional members took place. Consultations were held on such matters as the situation of the sector in the region, the current state of the sector, sectoral problems and solution proposals.
In the assessments made on the construction sector in Kahramanmaraş and the surrounding cities affected in particular by the earthquake, the difficulties faced by the region and the current situation were addressed. While an important exchange of views took place on the effects of the earthquake and on construction safety, emphasis was placed on the problems the sector faces, innovative solutions and the importance of resilient structures. In addition, information was shared about the support of local administrations and about cooperation opportunities.
Following the meeting, the opportunity was found to examine the problems and developments in the region on site through member workplace visits and field visits. The Önsen Girls' Children's Homes construction site, whose construction was begun under the leadership of our MÜSİAD Karlsruhe branch, was visited, information about the project was received from Kahramanmaraş Provincial Director of Family and Social Services Mr. M.Ferdi Bozkurt, and consultations were held.
MÜSİAD Construction and Building Materials Sector Board Chairman Cemil Yüksekdağ emphasized that such meetings strengthen sectoral solidarity and create an important basis for developing joint projects. In the coming period we aim to develop the dynamics in the sector by holding similar meetings in other regions as well, and to establish a strong communication network among members.
