The Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MÜSİAD) Europe Presidents Meeting was organized in İstanbul with broad participation.
MÜSİAD Deputy President Ali Reis Topçu, MÜSİAD Global High Board Chairman Adnan Bostan, MÜSİAD Board of Directors Members and the MÜSİAD Branch Presidents and representatives in Europe attended the first-day program held at the Head Office.
On the first day of the program, MÜSİAD Secretary General İbrahim Çukur provided information on the “Renewal Process” launched in the new term. Delivering a presentation on MÜSİAD's changing organizational structure, committee system and targets, Çukur conveyed that a project- and result-oriented approach had been adopted in the new term.
Europe Has Strategic Importance
Deputy President Ali Reis Topçu, who delivered the welcoming speech of the meeting, expressed his pleasure at hosting the MÜSİAD representatives coming from the leading countries of Europe at the Head Office. Providing information in his speech on the Turkish economy and the EU economies, the economic and commercial relations between our country and the EU, and the future of Türkiye-EU relations after Brexit, Topçu emphasized that Europe is Türkiye's largest trading partner and that in this respect it carries strategic importance. Noting that as MÜSİAD they attach great importance to the organizational work in Europe, Topçu said that they would act in line with this understanding in the coming periods as well.
Adnan Bostan, who delivered the opening speech of the gathering, shared his assessments regarding the activities MÜSİAD carried out abroad in 2019. Also providing information on the planning for 2020, Bostan expressed the Head Office's expectations from the international branches.
The European Branch Presidents and Representatives who took the floor at the meeting provided information about their work and projects in Europe. Our members, who also provided information about the difficulties and problems faced by MÜSİAD's members in Europe, held consultations on solution proposals. Emphasizing that they are continuing their efforts to develop the trade volume between Türkiye and European countries, our members stated that carrying out joint work with the Head Office in this direction would be extremely beneficial.
In the second part of the program, presentations were delivered to the participants by Export Development Committee Chairman Hıfsı Soydemir, Diplomatic Relations Committee Chairman Zeki Güvercin, Academy Committee Chairman Abdurrahman Uzun, GABORAS General Manager İshak Kurtuluş Altun, TÜYAP Project Manager Kayhan Akkır and MÜSİAD Deputy Secretary General Muhammet Furkan Gümüş.
On the second day of the meeting, a Hasbihal Meeting was held with the members at Cemile Sultan Korusu. At the event organized with the participation of MÜSİAD President Abdurrahman Kaan, MÜSİAD's expectations and targets were shared with our members. At the meeting, Diplomatic Relations Committee Chairman Zeki Güvercin delivered a presentation entitled “Lobbying and Diplomatic Representation”. The program came to an end with the discussion of the agendas of the International Branch Presidents and Representatives.
