The motto of this year's MÜSİAD VISIONARY summit, which the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MÜSİAD) has organized every two years since 2015 in order to add value to its prestige in the national and international arena and to raise its brand value, will be “THE POWER OF WE”. With the summit, which will see high-level participation from the public sector and the business world, the future of the business world will be discussed.

Explaining the details of the VISIONARY’23 summit, MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı said: “On 4 november, at Visionary’23, we will announce the road map we have prepared in order to keep collective power alive rationally in every field as MÜSİAD, so as to turn the Century of Türkiye goal into reality.”

MÜSİAD Visionary Summits were summits that followed the agenda with the themes “Doing Business with the Future” in 2015, “Transformation” in 2017 and “Digital Future” in 2019. The Visionary summit held in 2021 with the motto “Take Notice” turned into a summit structure taking concrete action, with close to 9,000 participants. At this summit, which added a new milestone in line with MÜSİAD's goals, awareness of the changes taking place was created with an insight underlining that the phenomenon of the “future” has arrived and that it must be noticed that the future is being lived. Visionary was engraved in minds as a summit that both transforms and is transformed, one that no longer remains at the level of discourse but now sets things in motion.  

THE ROAD LEADING FROM ONE TO WE

MÜSİAD Visionary’23 comes to re-establish the connection between people in today's world focused on individual life, and to find solutions to problems through collective action in a world full of complex challenges and problems.

“The Power of We” Visionary’23, built on this motto, emphasizes that the way to obtain results in the face of the problems that have been discussed for years and the solutions brought to these problems runs through collective action; it emphasizes that common goals can be reached by working together and bringing powers and resources together. It reveals that collective efforts can lead to greater achievements than individual efforts.

 

COLLECTIVE ACTION, THE CATALYST OF SUCCESS

With “The Power of We”, MÜSİAD Visionary’23 emphasizes that Türkiye needs a catalyst that will be the driving force for its development and progress in every field and every sector, and that this catalyst is collective action. Visionary’23 will give meaning to the idea that the only power that will make goals easier to reach, that will be the key for the economy and the business world to overcome the obstacles before them effortlessly, and that will carry achievements and gains further is: “Collective Action”. It will also be emphasized that collective action will serve as a catalyst for Türkiye to become even more successful.

 

In his speech at the launch meeting, MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı first addressed the human tragedy taking place in Palestine:

‘’For the past ten days a great human tragedy has been unfolding in Gaza. With each passing day we continue to receive bad news from the region. Because of Israel's intense air strikes and bombardments, virtually no stone has been left standing in Gaza. The State of Israel is engaged in an assault aimed entirely at intimidation, without regard to any target… Civilian settlements, places of worship, hospitals and educational institutions in Gaza have been razed to the ground. The infrastructure system has been destroyed… People's electricity and water have been cut off… People have been left without food and water… Israel is carrying out what is almost a planned genocide in Gaza. It is impossible to remain silent in the face of this situation. Wherever in the world an innocent person, a civilian, suffers oppression, we cannot remain silent about it. As MÜSİAD, we condemn the war in Gaza and this massacre committed against humanity. We call on all actors in the region for justice, so that the war may be ended, peace may be established in the region and the crimes against humanity being committed may be prevented as soon as possible.’’

“Collective Action Is a Matter for the Homeland”

MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı then described the Visionary’23 summit: “The only road map that will enable our country to reach more easily the goals our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced with the Century of Türkiye vision, that will enable the economy and the business world to accomplish work with a higher multiplier than ever before, and that will carry achievements and gains further is: “Collective Action”

Mahmut Asmalı; The Century of Türkiye will be the Century of the Collective

Saying that the first major businessmen's and business world event to be held in Türkiye's second century will be MÜSİAD Visionary’23, MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı said in his speech: “In order to turn the Century of Türkiye goal into reality, we will prepare a road map to keep collective power alive rationally in every field as MÜSİAD. We aim to follow a two-stage path in order to carry current achievements further and to reach new goals. The first of these two stages is how MÜSİAD will realize collective power within itself, how it will turn its sector boards into collective power, how it will instil the culture of being collective in its members. The second stage is in the nature of a proposal on how the culture of being collective can be spread, as MÜSİAD, to the whole of society, from the public sector to the business world, from entrepreneurship to education:  “The Collective Power Movement for Türkiye”  we will announce this road map on 4 November at Visionary’23, God willing,” he said.

 

“In 2030, we can raise our Gross National Product to USD 2 trillion”

Pointing out that collective action has the potential to transform Türkiye's future and to position it as a stronger leader in the region, Asmalı said: “By using collective action as a catalyst of success, we can position Türkiye as one of the world's leading top 10 economies. Rather than presenting this whole claim of ours as a dream, we take action, believe in our collective power and turn it into the investment capital Türkiye needs. Today, for the first time, we declare to you that we have established the MÜSİAD Venture Capital Investment Fund, that we will combine the capital strength of MÜSİAD members to create resources for value-added investments, and that we are taking responsibility for the work that will bring our country to a gross national product of 2 trillion,” he said.

Mahmut Asmalı: ‘’Doing trade and investing with these interest rates is not sustainable’’

MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı answered journalists' questions after his speech: Mahmut Asmalı said that it is quite difficult to do business with high loan rates: ‘’Frankly, doing trade with these interest rates, investing with these interest rates, is really not a very sustainable thing. We estimate that interest rates will come down as of the first quarter of next year. Because we think that, together with inflation coming down, there will also be an easing in interest rates.’’

Saying that we will reconnect with the world through the road leading from individuality to us, Chairman of the MÜSİAD Visionary’23 Executive Board Hasan Ekmen said: “Today we have noticed the World we live in. In today's world, individuality has become the most widespread way of life. People have taken on a structure in which they live in their own inner world and prefer to act individually even when they are going to take action. Ultimately, with the awareness we have gained, we are moving to a new stage. In order to be a solution to the individual and social problems that have been discussed for years, we will reconnect with people, societies, values and the world through the road leading from one to us. We will not be I, we will be we. For this reason, we determined the main theme of MÜSİAD Visionary’23 as “THE POWER OF WE”.”
