The MÜSİAD Textile Summit was held under the hosting of the MÜSİAD Batman branch. Speaking at the summit, MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı drew attention to the international competitiveness of Türkiye's quality production in the textile sector and said, "Our goal is to make Türkiye one of the top three countries in the textile sector."
The Textile Summit of the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MÜSİAD) was held under the coordination of the MÜSİAD Textile, Leather and Ready-Made Clothing Sector Board, hosted by the MÜSİAD Batman Branch and in cooperation with the Batman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and TEKSİAD.
The event, held at the Batman Eva Conference Hall, was attended by Batman Governor Ekrem Canalp, MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı, Batman Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Abdulkadir Demir, MÜSİAD Textile, Leather and Ready-Made Clothing Sector Board Chairman Fatih Canpolat, MÜSİAD Batman Branch President Aladdin İraz, members of the MÜSİAD Board of Directors, public institution executives, representatives of our country's leading textile companies, MÜSİAD members and business people from the region.
Speaking at the opening program, MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı stated that Türkiye has risen to the position of the world's 5th largest textile producer and exporter and said: "Our greatest goal is to leave our competitors behind and become one of the world's top 3 textile exporting and producing countries. The textile and ready-made clothing sectors, which provide job opportunities for 2 million people, achieved exports of over USD 30 billion in 2021 despite the pandemic. Exports of the textile and raw materials sector, meanwhile, stood at USD 16.2 billion. Türkiye has proven to the whole world time and again that it is a reliable and sought-after supplier in its sector. In the textile sector, we must continue to focus production on branding and on exports with high unit prices. To increase our competitiveness, we must invest in R&D and give weight to digital resources in all industries."
After the opening program, a presentation was made on Batman's socio-economic situation, its industrial and tourism potential and the general status of the new organized industrial zones (OIZs) planned to be established in our province.
The MÜSİAD Textile Summit came to an end with the presentation of certificates and a group photograph, following the sessions held under the titles "How Can We Develop Our Exports" and "Qualities Sought in Companies That Will Export".
Four factories opened in Batman within the scope of the Anatolian Production and Investment Movement
MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı, who was in Batman for the MÜSİAD Textile Summit, also attended a series of opening ceremonies.
Attending the opening ceremonies together with Batman Governor Ekrem Canalp, President Asmalı inaugurated four factories brought to life within the framework of the investments realized under the Anatolian Production and Investment Movement.
Sharing his assessments on the matter, President Asmalı said: "As MÜSİAD, we contribute to regional employment and development in all four corners of our country through the Anatolian Production and Investment Movement. Today we held the opening ceremony of four factories in Batman with the participation of our esteemed Governor Ekrem Canalp and our Board of Directors members. I hope that the production facilities of our members, Mahmut Ekinci's Ekinci Textile, Mehmet Kılıç's Ravidex Textile Medical, Abdulhalim Sünger's Sünger Group Textile and Mehmet Ceylan's Ceylan Textile, will be a means of goodness for our country's trade, and I wish them abundant earnings."
