Turkish Contracting and Building Materials Exports Were Addressed at MÜSİAD

The program “From Türkiye to the Global Stage: Real Stories from the Field, Winning Strategies”, organized by the MÜSİAD Construction and Building Materials Sector Board, was held on 30 April 2026 at the MÜSİAD Head Office. At the program, the position of the Turkish contracting sector in international markets, growth strategies in building materials exports and financing opportunities in overseas projects were evaluated.

In the opening section of the program, organized with the participation of sector representatives, MÜSİAD International Working Group Chairman Abdülkerim Dündar, Construction and Building Materials Sector Board Chairman Ömer Kandemir and MÜSİAD Vice President Abdulkadir Çınar shared their assessments. In the speeches, the Turkish construction sector's experience in global markets, its export capacity and the work aimed at developing international cooperation were addressed.

In the Construction and Subcontracting Session, the first session of the program, STFA Board Member and Construction Group President Recep Çimen took part as a speaker. In his presentation titled “The Global Journey of Turkish Contracting: Experiences, Problems and Proposed Solutions”, Çimen shared with the participants the Turkish contracting sector's experience in overseas markets, its project management processes, the fundamental problems encountered and proposed solutions.

In the Building Materials Exports Session, İdevit General Manager Ahmet Aksu shared his assessments regarding correct market selection in exports, customer relations, pricing and competition strategies with his presentation titled “Carrying Building Materials to the World: Market, Customer and the Winning Strategy”. Within the scope of the session, Unique Marble Ltd. representative Saim Batuhan Bajdaroğlu also conveyed his experiences regarding the process of opening up to the European market in his presentation titled “Entrepreneurship from Ankara to London”.

In the Finance Session of the program, Türk Eximbank Project Finance and International Relations Director Hatice Ürkmez took part as a speaker. In her presentation titled “Financing in Overseas Projects: The Right Model, the Right Source, the Right Timing”, Ürkmez presented information on financing models in overseas projects, support mechanisms and the points exporting companies should pay attention to.

In the discussions held after the sessions, participants shared their assessments on the sector's areas of development in overseas markets, export opportunities and new cooperation. The program was completed with an exchange of views aimed at increasing the effectiveness of the Turkish contracting and building materials sector in international markets.
