The MÜSİAD Green Economy Working Group was established under the chairmanship of the MÜSİAD Sector Boards and Fair Forum Commission. Based on the Green Deal Action Plan concerning the target of a 55 percent emission reduction by 2030 within the EU's current emission reduction plan, the working group will provide consultancy to exporting MÜSİAD members on matters such as information and transformation.
The Green Economy Working Group, established under the umbrella of MÜSİAD in order to inform and guide MÜSİAD members exporting to the EU and to enable them to prepare with regard to the Green Deal Action Plan, by which they will be directly affected through the new incentive and taxation practices, held its first meeting.
The working group, which held its first meeting under the chairmanship of Altuğ Karataş, Vice Chairman of the Sector Boards and Fair Forum Commission, and İsmail Hakkı Karaca, Chairman of the Energy and Environment Sector Board, has begun its work to establish a planning and organizational structure compatible with the Green Deal, which will come into effect as of 2025.
In the working group, which includes one representative from each of the 16 sectors in the Sector Boards unit, the possible effects of the Green Deal on each sector will be researched and a road map will be drawn up together with the measures, precautions and opportunities in this regard. In addition, it is aimed to ensure MÜSİAD's participation in international events by carrying out various activities, briefings and awareness-raising work.
