The MÜSİAD Logistics Sector Board, which holds consultation and experience-sharing meetings with sector and business world representatives at various intervals, held a consultation meeting on Wednesday, 9 April, featuring a presentation by Prof. Dr. Arif Yavuz titled “Assessment of the World and Turkish Economy, Economic Forecasts and Recommendations for Employers”.
The opening of the meeting, which was also attended by Sector Boards and Fair-Forum Commission Vice Chairman Ömer Karatemiz, Financial Services Sector Board Chairman Hasan Ekmen and guest participants, began with the introduction of the Logistics Sector Board and an account of the activities it has carried out throughout the term by our Sector Board Chairman Mehmet Metin Korkmaz.
Prof. Dr. Arif Yavuz, who then took the floor, provided information on the developments and the latest situation in the world economy and on the global growth and inflation figures of the USA, the EU and China.
He also shared assessments concerning Türkiye on such matters as growth and national income data, inflation, budget data, foreign trade data, the 2023-2024 export-import figures, exchange rates and the Central Bank's gold and foreign exchange reserves.
Finally, in line with the information he had provided, he offered recommendations to business people and provided information and advice on how they should act in the period ahead.
Taking the floor at the end of the meeting, Sector Board Chairman Mehmet Metin Korkmaz said, “As the business world we are working with all our strength, making great efforts and sacrifices for our country's economy and development. Through sectoral talks, market analyses, economy presentations and experience-sharing meetings, we want to turn this productivity and value into added value,” and thanked Prof. Dr. Arif Yavuz, who made the presentation at the meeting, Muhammet Ali Öz, who hosted the organization, and the board members and guests who attended the meeting.
The program concluded with the presentation to Prof. Dr. Arif Yavuz of the report titled “The Logistics Sector with a Focus on Sustainability and Future Trends”, prepared by the Logistics Sector Board, and with a family photo.
