The MÜSİAD Netherlands General Assembly and the MÜSİAD Europe General Administrative Board were held in Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, with the participation of MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı.

The Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MÜSİAD) Netherlands General Assembly and the MÜSİAD Europe General Administrative Board were held with the participation of business people from all corners of Türkiye and Europe.

In the first leg of the Netherlands programme, which was also attended by the MÜSİAD delegation that came from Türkiye under the chairmanship of MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı, the MÜSİAD Netherlands General Assembly was organized in Amsterdam.

Speaking at the General Assembly programme, President Asmalı drew attention to the importance of the commercial relations between Türkiye and the Netherlands.

"It is possible to strengthen the commercial connections between the two countries even further and to demonstrate an even stronger cooperation through this togetherness," said President Asmalı, who drew attention to Türkiye's logistical position and stated: "Our country, which is at the centre of global trade, is a hub that holds opportunities for access to regional markets. Türkiye is strengthening this advantage with the logistics and infrastructure projects implemented over the last 20 years."

President Asmalı made the following statements in his address:

"The commercial relations we maintain with the Netherlands, one of the important trade points in Europe, have gained considerable momentum in recent years. In 2022 our exports to the Netherlands rose by 18.6 percent compared with the previous year to USD 8.0 billion, while in the same period our imports from the Netherlands stood at USD 4.5 billion. Again in this period, our trade with the Netherlands produced a foreign trade surplus of USD 3.5 billion in favour of our country. Our bilateral trade volume stood at USD 12.5 billion, breaking the record of all time. Within this framework, the contributions of our business world representatives to this record are evident. However, it is possible to strengthen these commercial connections even further and to demonstrate an even stronger cooperation through this togetherness. Our country, which is at the centre of global trade, is a hub that holds opportunities for access to regional markets. Türkiye is strengthening this advantage with the logistics and infrastructure projects implemented over the last 20 years. With the perspective of the Century of Türkiye, we believe that Anatolia will strengthen this potential and we invite investors from every sector to our country."

Meanwhile, within the framework of the MÜSİAD General Assembly Programme, the incumbent Branch President Ali Köklü was re-elected as President of the MÜSİAD Netherlands Branch.
