The Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MÜSİAD) announced MÜSİAD's Industry and Technology Manifesto at the MÜSİAD Industry and Technology Summit it held. The manifesto, made public by MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı, sets out a new vision for the future.

The Industry and Technology Summit (MUST'23) organized by the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen (MÜSİAD) also published an important output manifesto in addition to the important events and speakers it hosted. The manifesto, which MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı declared during his opening speech, sets out what MÜSİAD will do and support in the field of industry and technology in the future. While announcing the manifesto, Asmalı emphasized the impulse to act together and to work collectively, and touched on the need for everyone to put their shoulder to the wheel. In his speech, Asmalı said, "At MUST we will address in particular the developments in industry and technology, the points of contact between these sectors, and new trends along with new opportunities. Moreover, in this part of my speech, I would also like to share with you the “MÜSİAD Industry and Technology Manifesto”, the vision document expressing MÜSİAD's views, thoughts and targets. In the 100th year of our Republic, as we advance with confident steps towards our “Century of Türkiye” goal, we declare, as MÜSİAD, our industry and technology manifesto, which we have undertaken for the economic prosperity of our country and our nation within the framework of our founding values, our mission and our vision."

The MÜSİAD Industry and Technology Summit Manifesto announced by MÜSİAD is as follows:

  • Our maxim while producing is; High Morality and High Technology.

  • Producing in harmony with the unity and concord of human beings and all living creatures in creation is our only path.

  • Ethical, sustainable production is our indispensable strategy.

  • We aim for our understanding of competition, balanced by moral values, to turn into a global understanding.

  • We regard it as our duty to be among those who set world standards with more patents, more utility models and more brands, and we attach special importance to the commercialization of patents.

  • We accept it as our responsibility to develop cooperation between different branches of science and between sectors in order to prevent the risks arising from climate change and to compensate for its damages.

  • We resolutely pursue, for the development of the country, the energy policies and resource development efforts defined under 11 headings in the MÜSİAD Energy Strategy.

  • We accept as our priority the increase of Research and Development (R&D) activities in order to raise productivity and to advance production technologies.

  • We attach vital importance to doubling the resources the private sector allocates to R&D in the critical sectors and in the digital transformation that will ensure the transition to the concept of “Industry that Produces Industry”.

  • We consider it an obligation that the capacities of our firms be developed in the sectors supplying raw materials and other production inputs in order to reduce external dependency.

  • We attach importance to the realization of the 2023 Industry and Technology Strategy prepared and put into practice by the Ministry of Industry and Technology.

  • We attach importance to expanding our areas of cooperation with our state institutions and professional organizations in the national and international regulatory arrangements required at all stages of investments and in the creation of support programs.

  • We support vocational qualification initiatives for the development of the employability qualities brought by the new age that rises upon innovation, digital transformation and smart objects.

  • We are aware that benefiting more effectively from the developmental power of knowledge in the redefined production and investment processes is possible through effective cooperation to be established with universities, and we are striving to realize this.

  • We attach importance to enabling our firms to access international financing more easily and to the efforts in this direction.

  • We propose developing, as a national program, our endeavours to bring investors together with industrialists and to realize the transfer of capital and technical knowledge that our industrialists need.

  • We attach great importance to integrated logistics networks for the development of industry.

  • We see the development of public-private and entrepreneur-investor business networks and collaborations, and the simplification of tax, incentive and wage policies, as an inevitable necessity.

  • Believing that the contribution of qualified migrants will develop the economy in terms of both quality and quantity, we follow as a pressing agenda item the production of new policies for the management of employment-oriented migration.

  • We continue to see the development of the export mission and of a societal export awareness among our priorities.

  • We accept as a target being among the top 20 in the ease of doing business index published by the World Bank.

  • We stand alongside and support all the initiatives aimed at developing our domestic and national production capacity in the priority development areas and strategically prioritized sectors included in the 12th Development Plan.

  • We support the visions of “domestic and national production”, “pioneering industry in the world” and the “National Technology Initiative ”, which are the watchword of our country's transformation from a representative industry into a centre producing high value-added products and producing industry.

We believe with all our being that; This age is our age.

We have accompanied with our values Türkiye's journey towards taking its place among the leading countries. Our age has begun under the name of the Century of Türkiye. Praise be to God.

It is our historic responsibility to do our part in order to ensure that our age continues uninterrupted for centuries.

Contributing, with industry and technology that work for people, to the Türkiye Economy Model and the National Technology Initiative, which operate on the principles of production, investment, employment and exports, is our common will as MÜSİAD.

Our greatest goal is for our country to take its place among the world's top 10 economies.

Setting out on the road again with faith and determination after every destination we reach, in order to reach new destinations, is our golden apple that keeps us constantly running after it.

Along with the manifesto it announced, MÜSİAD also declared that it would announce new programs encouraging production in industry and oriented towards advanced technology, in a way that will cover all of its members.
