The MÜSİAD Tourism Sector Board held an experience-sharing program entitled “Young Experience: A Look at Tourism and Career Opportunities” at the Havva Aslanoba Tourism Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School. The students showed intense interest in the program.
The opening speech was delivered by Ümit Gürel, Chairman of the Bursa Tourism Sector Board, who emphasized that tourism is a developing and constantly renewing sector. Afterwards, School Principal Emir Seymen contributed to the event with a speech of greeting.
In the continuation of the program, our Tourism Sector Board Chairman Mecit Kılınçarslan addressed the students. In his speech, Kılınçarslan explained MÜSİAD's structure, the work of the sector board and the broad fields of employment in tourism. Expressing that the right accumulation of knowledge during the education process forms the foundation of great achievements in the future, he emphasized that students should not shy away from taking bold steps in business life. He drew attention to the importance of a person preserving his essence, his culture and his values wherever in the world he may go.
The program continued with the experience-sharing section. Under the moderation of Bayram Bozkurt, the sector representatives who took the floor gave important pieces of advice to the students.
Hüseyin Akyol stated that guest satisfaction is the fundamental criterion in tourism. Saying that a guest choosing the same establishment again is an indicator of a correct understanding of service, he expressed that success is possible by not giving up on trying.
Yılmaz Şaşmaz, for his part, emphasized that employees should be seen as companions on the road and customers as guests. He conveyed that trust, the correct flow of information and coordination are the indispensable elements of the tourism sector, and that crisis management and the ability to foresee are among the cornerstones of professional success.
Havva Elif Kahraman shared her story of entering the sector and said that doing one's work with love and serving a purpose carries success to a different point. She expressed that tourism is one of the most important sectors of the future and that the experience gained is the most valuable accumulation in this field.
The program continued interactively with a question-and-answer section. The event came to an end with the presentation of a plaque and the offering of flowers by the students to our Tourism Sector Board Chairman and to the speakers.
