The “The Role of MÜSİAD in Regional Development Programme”, which MÜSİAD holds regularly every year, was held under the hosting of the Tokat Branch with the participation of President Abdurrahman Kaan.

Prior to the programme, President Abdurrahman Kaan and the accompanying delegation paid a courtesy visit to Tokat Mayor Eyüp Eroğlu and Tokat Governor Dr. Ozan Balcı.

The “The Role of MÜSİAD in Regional Development” programme, organized every year by the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MÜSİAD), was held under the hosting of the Tokat Branch. The programme was attended by MÜSİAD President Abdurrahman Kaan, Tokat Mayor Eyüp Eroğlu, AK Party Tokat Deputy Mustafa Arslan, Tokat Branch President Fatih Aksoy, members of the MÜSİAD Board of Directors, branch presidents and representatives from the business world.

Delivering the opening speech of the programme, Abdurrahman Kaan pointed out the necessity of regional development for holistic development. Emphasizing that MÜSİAD's fundamental aim is the development of society, President Kaan said, “ “Since the day we were founded as MÜSİAD, we have never been focused solely on increasing our personal wealth; our aim has never been primarily to make money. It has always been the development of society, not of the individual, that has been our priority. With this sense of responsibility, we come together with business people in all four corners of the world, above all in Anatolia, and work in line with our country's common goals. While strengthening our commercial activities, we exchange ideas, put forward projects and share their outcomes with our economic administration, policymakers and the public. We regard regional development as one of the most important conditions for being able to achieve holistic development.”

“MÜSİAD Is Being Renewed in Order to Continue on Its Path as a Capital Platform on a Global Scale”

Also drawing attention to the change and transformation MÜSİAD has undergone, Kaan said: “As MÜSİAD, we have been acting with this sense of responsibility for 30 years. Following our General Assembly held in May, we launched our own institutional and structural transformation and are now completing it. We planned this change, which we call “Renewal” and which we are carrying out within our own body, while remaining faithful to our core values and founding purposes, to which we have been firmly attached from the day we were founded until today. With its 30 years of knowledge and experience, MÜSİAD is being renewed and refreshed in order to continue on its path as a far more effective and globally strong national capital platform. A powerful transformation is taking place in the world. The conditions of competition in the economy and in trade are changing. An entirely different world order is being established. In line with the political and economic change in the world, MÜSİAD is at the same time preparing itself for 2023 with a sun-layered structural model that will serve as a model for the world and for our country.”

“Our Priority Is to Strengthen Our Members' Position in Their Sector”

Tokat Branch President Fatih Aksoy, for his part, noted that as a branch they carry out work to help their members' businesses grow. Aksoy assessed: “We joined the MÜSİAD family, of which we are greatly honoured to be part, as a representative office in 2015, and we have continued as a branch since 2019. Our priority is to develop the solidarity, unity and togetherness among our members and to strengthen our members' position in their sector. Alongside this, we contribute to creating environments in which our members can do business on favourable terms. Our greatest goal is to contribute to the development of our region and our country.”

At the end of the programme, the Branch Charter was presented to Branch President Fatih Aksoy by President Abdurrahman Kaan and Local High Board Chairman Ahmet Şekerli.
