At the meeting, the effects on the business world of increasing uncertainties on a global and local scale, access to finance, risk management, investment decisions, consumer behaviour, regulatory processes and proposed solutions that would increase the resilience of the sectors were addressed. Assessing the current developments experienced in different sectors, the participants drew attention to the importance of predictability, data-based analysis, effective financial planning and strong corporate communication so that businesses can take healthier decisions in periods of uncertainty.
Within the scope of the meeting, topics such as the deepening of capital markets, the development of participation finance, the expansion of insurance and risk management mechanisms, facilitating SMEs' access to finance and increasing the diversity of financial instruments were discussed. It was also emphasized that legal and regulatory uncertainties should be reduced and that regulations should be put into effect in consultation with the sectors and according to a predictable timetable.
In the assessments regarding the e-commerce and retail sectors, the consumer's purchasing power, cost increases, stock management, working capital requirements, digitalization and artificial intelligence-supported decision-making processes came to the fore. It was stated that e-exports offer important opportunities in terms of SMEs opening up to international markets and increasing the global competitiveness of Turkish products.
In the assessments focused on logistics, real estate, entrepreneurship and technology, the effects of uncertainties on investment appetite, efficiency, scaling and international competition were also addressed. While the opportunities offered to the business world by fintech, artificial intelligence and digital solutions in the entrepreneurship ecosystem in particular were assessed, it was stated that cooperation between start-ups and corporate companies should be strengthened.
At the meeting, attention was also drawn to the effects of speculative discourse in the food and retail sectors on market balances, and the importance of uniformity of practice across sectors in supervision processes and of public-NGO cooperation was emphasized. Sector representatives stated that conveying the views coming from the field to decision-makers in the form of concrete proposals would contribute to the development of more effective policies aimed at the needs of the business world.
MÜSİAD Services and Finance Sector Board Chairman Ali Tutuk stated that the views and proposals coming from different sectors within the scope of the meeting would be compiled into a report, and said that the aim is for the study to be prepared to be of a guiding nature for both decision-makers and the business world.
