The MÜSİAD Agriculture, Food and Livestock Sector Board addressed the present and future of the sector with university youth
The “Sectoral Sharing with Young People” program, at which young people came together at İstanbul Sabahattin Zaim University, was successfully held. The program was organized with the aim of raising university students' awareness of the agriculture, food and livestock sectors and enabling them to establish direct contact with the business world.
The program began with the opening and greeting speech of İstanbul Sabahattin Zaim University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Küçük.
Taking the floor within the scope of the program, MÜSİAD Agriculture, Food and Livestock Sector Board Chairman Mr. Emrullah Gökhan explained the activities of MÜSİAD and of the Agriculture, Food and Livestock Sector Board. Stating that production capacity is decreasing in Türkiye because of the rising average age of farmers, Gökhan emphasized that innovative and technological work should be increased and the number of young farmers multiplied.
Stating that young people should not give up in the face of any adversity, he drew attention to the importance of knowing a foreign language and following innovations abroad. He also touched upon the role of apprenticeship and experience in professional development.
In the continuation of the program, SFG Chairman of the Board Mr. Muharrem Kaan shared his experiences in business life with the participants. He emphasized the importance of gaining experience and of collective work in working life.
Afterwards, Danet Chairman of the Board Mr. Sait Uluçay shared his assessments regarding the current situation of the livestock sector in Türkiye. Drawing attention to the importance of planning in the sector, Uluçay expressed the necessity of going out into the field in working life.
The last speaker of the program, MÜSİAD Sector Boards Commission Chairman Mr. Cemal Özen, gave information about the work being carried out. Stating that process management and acting together bring success in business life, Özen drew attention to the importance of being trustworthy and of working with morality and conscience. Expressing that joint work should be undertaken to increase agricultural production, he advised young people to be patient.
The program ended with the presentation of a plaque.
