The MÜSİAD Tourism Sector Board came together in Van within the scope of the 5th Regional Introduction and Consultation Meeting and discussed the current state of tourism in the region, its problems and proposed solutions.
The MÜSİAD Tourism Sector Board 5th Regional Introduction and Consultation Meeting was held in Van. The meeting began with the opening and welcome speeches of MÜSİAD Van Branch President Abdullah Aras. Speaking about MÜSİAD's mission, its activities and its contributions to the tourism sector, Abdullah Aras also touched on the problems faced by tourism in Van.
Then, Tourism Sector Board Chairman Murat Kundak took the floor and explained the activities carried out by the sector board. Tourism Sector Board Vice Chairman Mecit Kılınçarslan also introduced himself and delivered his speech.
Afterwards, the protocol speeches began. Van Chamber of Commerce and Industry Board Member Reşit Yaren delivered his speech, expressing their pleasure at hosting MÜSİAD in Van. Van Hotel and Tourism Professionals Association President Çetin Demirhan and the Association's Deputy President shared the problems experienced in the tourism sector in the city and their proposed solutions. Van Yüzüncü Yıl University Faculty Member and also a member of the Lake Van Activists, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Erdoğan Özer, spoke about the steps that need to be taken to increase Van's tourism potential. TÜRSAB Van Regional President Cevdet Özgökçe also made sectoral assessments and presented his views on the work that needs to be done for the development of tourism in Van.
In the third part of the meeting, our members introduced themselves and expressed their thoughts about the tourism sector in Van and the problems they face. Tourism Sector Board Deputy Chairman Oktay Karadeniz said, regarding the resolution of the problems in the region, that the Tourism Stakeholders in the Region should unite and make an effort to promote Van, and that they should give weight to promotion in the neighbouring countries other than Iran. Tourism Sector Board Deputy Chairmen Taner Gündoğan and Çetin Şahin also made proposals for the solution of the Tourism problems in the region. Afterwards, Tourism Sector Board Chairman Murat Kundak presented the Orphan Sponsorship Certificate to Van Branch President Abdullah Aras.
At the end of the program, a family photograph was taken with all the participants. The regional introduction and consultation meeting then came to an end with the prayer offered after the iftar program that followed.
