The "Turkish Room Opening Ceremony", organized in partnership between MÜSİAD and İstanbul University, was held with the participation of President Abdurrahman Kaan, İstanbul University Deputy Rector Recep Güloğlu and Members of the Board of Directors
Speaking at the ceremony, President Kaan pointed out that the Turkish Room, whose opening was carried out, would become a meeting place for foreign national students. Kaan said: “ As MÜSİAD, we are a structure that strives to reach out to every person on earth who grows up in the embrace of love. Coming together on the fundamental values of humanity and moving forward together, without any distinction of language, religion or race, is enough for us. Is it possible for an NGO operating in 93 countries and at 223 locations around the world to achieve this? Yes, it is possible, distinguished guests. We can say this with peace of mind; the Turkish Room that we will inaugurate here today is also a step taken in order to further develop the deep-rooted relations we have established with the bond of love all over the world. This place will be a meeting point for students who come from different parts of the world to study in our country.”
Students Will Serve as a Bridge Between Their Own Countries and Türkiye
Noting that as MÜSİAD they work to help students adapt to working life after their studies, Kaan continued as follows:
“Civil society organizations are voluntary structures that step in and fill an important gap in many areas where the sphere of influence of official institutions remains limited. These structures serve as valuable keys, particularly in areas where bureaucracy slows down the functioning of things. Every individual who serves voluntarily is the greatest treasure for the continuity of these structures. As MÜSİAD, while providing our students with training on various subjects, we will also involve them in a range of activities. In this way, while preparing them for working life on the one hand, on the other hand we will have contributed to their continued development towards their own futures. Here I would especially like to emphasize a point that makes the project special: while the students achieve various gains under the guidance of our esteemed academic staff and MÜSİAD's professional team, they will also have built an important bridge between their own countries and Türkiye. Our young people, who will attain a certain level of knowledge and experience, will accomplish this by guiding us on the commercial, economic and social structure of their countries throughout this process.”
We Are Grateful to MÜSİAD
İstanbul University Deputy Rector Recep Güloğlu, for his part, made the following statements about the room:
“We know, recognize and love MÜSİAD not only as a business world but also as a world of spirit and heart. We are grateful to them for everything they have done and will do for our country. As İstanbul University, we too are making every possible effort to contribute to the internationalization endeavours of our state and of YÖK. Everything that is done for the sake of goodness, will find its reward both in this world and in the next. For everything you have done and will do, I thank you all on behalf of İstanbul University.”
