At the visit organized to the TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Centre under the coordination of the MÜSİAD Health Sector Board, MÜSİAD Vice President Gökhan Yetkin, MÜSİAD Health Sector Board Chairman Hüseyin Sarpkaya and the accompanying MÜSİAD delegation came together with TÜBİTAK MAM President Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yozgatlıgil. At the meeting held, institutional work and areas of cooperation were evaluated.
Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MÜSİAD) Vice President Gökhan Yetkin and MÜSİAD Health Sector Board Chairman Hüseyin Sarpkaya came together with Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yozgatlıgil, President of the Marmara Research Centre of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK).
At the meeting, in which Young MÜSİAD Gebze President Muhammed Faruk Özmen and members of the MÜSİAD Health Sector Board also took part, assessments regarding institutional work and areas of cooperation were addressed.
Expressing the satisfaction he felt at the visit, TÜBİTAK MAM President Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yozgatlıgil used the following expressions: "The health sector is one of the most important sectors among MAM's activities. TÜBİTAK MAM is really very active, particularly in terms of drug development, biomaterials and biomedical devices in Türkiye, their testing and certification, and establishing and conveying infrastructures that are scarce in our country. But one of our greatest indispensables is our industrial partners."
Thanking the TÜBİTAK MAM delegation for their hospitality, MÜSİAD Health Sector Board Chairman Hüseyin Sarpkaya said, "As MÜSİAD, we represent the health sector in Türkiye with 650 companies. In this scope, we have a highly multidisciplinary structure. We experienced very different days over the last 2 years under pandemic conditions. In health, the production of health data in the hospital environment has now moved outside the hospital. This means that we need new technological developments. For this, we need to innovate. TÜBİTAK is a touchstone, a starting point for us."
At the meeting, presentations were also delivered by the Directors and Deputy Directors of the relevant Institutes on the infrastructure and fields of activity of the TÜBİTAK MAM Food Institute (GE), the Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Institute (GMBE), the Chemical Technology Institute (KTE) and the Materials Institute (ME), and on the potential areas of cooperation that could be realized with MÜSİAD.
After the presentation was completed, the MÜSİAD delegation toured the TÜBİTAK MAM laboratories and was briefed by competent people in the relevant fields.
