MÜSİAD Logistics Sector Board Chairman Mehmet Metin Korkmaz and the accompanying delegation paid a corporate visit to the İstanbul Airport Customs Directorate. Following the visit, a technical trip was held within the scope of the High School Sponsorship activities.
MÜSİAD Logistics Sector Board Chairman Mehmet Metin Korkmaz and the accompanying delegation visited İstanbul Airport Customs Director Dr. Gökhan Aktaş at his office. During the visit, assessments were made regarding the logistics sector, customs procedures, foreign trade activities and the current needs of the sector. An exchange of views was also held on developing public-private sector cooperation.
Within the scope of the visit, a technical trip program was organized at İstanbul Airport for the students of Üsküdar Commerce Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, within the framework of the High School Sponsorship activities MÜSİAD carries out for the development of education and human resources.
Within the scope of the program, the students visited the MNG Airlines Warehouse in cooperation with MNG Airlines Bonded Warehouse Head Emir Hüseyin Akın and had the opportunity to receive on-site information about air cargo operations and warehouse processes. In the presentations delivered by warehouse officials, the processes of cargo acceptance, storage, dispatch and operations management were explained in detail. By observing the functioning of the logistics sector in the field, the students had the opportunity to reinforce their theoretical knowledge with practical examples.
It is aimed that the technical trip organized by the MÜSİAD Logistics Sector Board will contribute to increasing young people's awareness of the sector and to training qualified human resources. At the end of the program, the students were also informed about career opportunities in the fields of logistics and air cargo transport.
