Stating that entrepreneurship means not only founding new companies but at the same time innovation and employment, Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MÜSİAD) President Mahmut Asmalı said, "Qualified entrepreneurs help close the current account deficit by reducing imports and increasing exports with the solutions they produce, and contribute to our economic independence by developing domestic and national technologies." The Demo Day event held by the Young MÜSİAD Entrepreneurship Center was organized at the MÜSİAD Head Office.

The event, at which entrepreneurs came together with investors, was held with the participation of MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı, Young MÜSİAD President Muhammed Huzeyfe Güllüoğlu, Young MÜSİAD 10th Term President Cahit Ertemel, Young MÜSİAD Vice President Mağsum Usta and Teknopark İstanbul General Manager Prof. Dr. Abdurrahman Akyol. Speaking at the opening, MÜSİAD President Asmalı stated that they all work together to make Türkiye strong in every field, to support entrepreneurship and production and to offer young people a better future, and commented, "The age we are in is an age in which digital transformation, innovation and technology are integrated with the economy." Touching upon the fact that the world economy is going through a great change, Asmalı said, "From artificial intelligence to biotechnology, from e- commerce to fintech, new sectors are rising.In this global transformation Türkiye has the potential to come to the fore with its deep-rooted trade history and entrepreneurial spirit. Throughout history this geography has been the centre of trade and enterprise, from the Silk Road to the present day. Today too, with the energy and entrepreneurship of our young population, we can carry this legacy into the future."

Saying that as MÜSİAD they are aware of the potential borne by youth and entrepreneurship, Asmalı made the following assessment: "Our general vision is to make our country a rule-setting player in its region. And the way to achieve this passes through entrepreneurship and innovation. In the Century of Türkiye vision set out by our esteemed President, the most critical path is our entrepreneurial and courageous young people like you. We believe that the codes of the new century will be written by Türkiye's entrepreneurial and courageous young people like you." Asmalı pointed out that, with the projects it carries out, Young MÜSİAD works virtually like a huge incubation centre and a distinguished school of entrepreneurship. Stating that they see entrepreneurship as a guarantee for the country's future, Asmalı noted the following: "Developing the entrepreneurial ecosystem, removing the obstacles before our young people and giving them courage are among our most important duties. As MÜSİAD, our view of entrepreneurship is to address it not only as an economic activity but at the same time as a social responsibility and a national duty.We also attach great importance to our entrepreneurs being individuals attached to the cultural values of our society, observing the ethics of trade and being beneficial to those around them".

A cooperation protocol was signed with Teknopark İstanbul

Young MÜSİAD President Güllüoğlu, for his part, stated that Young MÜSİAD has an important place in the entrepreneurship ecosystem and gave information about the Young MÜSİAD Entrepreneurship Center.

Touching upon the realization of how great the results of the seeds Young MÜSİAD sowed years ago are, Güllüoğlu said, "In fact, we are confident that we will obtain qualitative rather than quantitative results over many years. What our entrepreneurs have learned, what they have seen and the networks they have established here will in fact be a means to far more beneficial results over many years." At Demo Day, a cooperation protocol was also signed with Teknopark İstanbul. Within the scope of the cooperation, which aims for entrepreneurship to be integrated more closely with technology and the business world, joint acceleration programs will be organized. In addition, it is aimed to grow the commercial volumes of the ventures within Teknopark İstanbul by integrating them with the business world.
